Description
Description
The Bitter Truth Spiced Chocolate is a fascinating liqueur that adds a special depth and complexity to both classic and modern cocktails with its unique blend of fine chocolate flavours and a subtle hint of spice. Made by experienced bartenders Stephan Berger and Alexander Hauck from Munich, the idea for this liqueur was born when they started producing and distributing cocktail bitters themselves in 2006. At a time when the cocktail bitters segment was gaining international importance, "The Bitter Truth" became one of the leading brands in this category. Their love of history and old cocktail recipes has created the basis for many of their successful products.
The Bitter Truth Spiced Chocolate is a real treat thanks to the combination of fine chocolate notes with finely balanced spices such as cinnamon, cloves and a light vanilla note. The alcohol content of 44% vol. ensures that this liqueur comes into its own both in its pure form and as an aromatic ingredient in cocktails. Whether in a classic Old Fashioned, a modern Chocolate Martini or as a sophisticated touch in a Negroni, this liqueur offers a wide range of uses and is a must for every bartender and cocktail lover.
Tasting Note
Colour: Deep, rich brown.
Nose: Intense aromas of dark chocolate, accompanied by a warm spiciness of cinnamon, cloves and a delicate vanilla note.
Taste: Full-bodied and round, with dominant chocolate flavours accompanied by a spicy depth with a hint of cinnamon and sweet caramel.
Finish: Long-lasting with a fine chocolate bitterness and a gentle, spicy warmth.
The Bitter Truth Spiced Chocolate is ideal for preparing cocktails such as a Chocolate Old Fashioned or a Spiced Chocolate Martini, in which the chocolate and spicy notes are perfectly accentuated. The liqueur can also be wonderfully integrated into desserts, for example in a chocolate sauce for ice cream or in a chocolate mousse. Enjoyed on its own, it can be an excellent accompaniment to dark chocolate or strong cheeses such as Roquefort.
