Port Charlotte ISLAY BARLEY Heavily Peated is distilled by a group of seven Islay farmers: Hunter Jackson, Ian McKerrel, Raymond Fletcher, Donald and Andrew Jones, Mark French, Alastair Torrance and Raymond Stewart. This collaboration ensures a whisky that is authentic and deeply rooted in the traditions of Islay. Port Charlotte 2013 is matured for 8 years in a blend of ex-American and ex-wine casks from the renowned Pessac-Léognan wine region in France. These casks not only give the whisky a unique depth, but also a subtle fruitiness that harmonises perfectly with the intense peatiness.

With an alcohol content of 50% vol., this whisky is strong yet well-balanced, making it ideal for both connoisseurs and newcomers to the world of Islay whisky. Colour: Light gold with amber reflections.

Taste: Powerful and complex, with a distinctive peatiness that is complemented by subtle fruit flavours, spicy notes and a slight sweetness of oak.

Finish: Long lasting with a smoky, spicy note that gently blends with sweet and savoury elements.

The Port Charlotte ISLAY BARLEY Heavily Peated is ideal for drinking straight or with a small drop of water to further develop the flavours. It is an excellent accompaniment to strong cheeses such as Roquefort or blue cheese and also harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate.
