The base is a wheated bourbon - a bourbon with a high wheat content instead of rye - which is known for its mild, round and creamy characteristics. After the regular maturation in burnt American oak barrels, this whiskey is given an additional finish in selected tawny port wine barrels, which gives it a fruity, velvety interplay of flavours.

This combination creates an exceptional depth of flavour, in which the classic vanilla and caramel notes of bourbon meet the nutty sweetness and ripe fruit flavours of the tawny port.
