The WhistlePig Distillery was founded in 2007 on an acquired farm and officially opened in 2015 after extensive remodelling work. Master Distiller Dave Pickerell developed customised copper stills especially for the distillery, which are now in continuous operation seven days a week.

The WhistlePig 15 Year Straight Rye is one of the oldest whiskeys in the house and one of the first to be finished in casks made from the company's own Vermont oak. This special finish in Vermont oak casks, which lasts for three years, allows the whiskey to develop its full flavour and remarkable depth.

With an alcohol content of 92 proof (46%), this whiskey offers a powerful and expressive flavour experience that underlines its maturity and wisdom. It reflects not only its age, but also the sophistication and complexity achieved through careful finishing in specially crafted oak casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber.

Nose: Strong, caramel, vanilla, oak, burnt oranges.

Taste: Warm, strong, creamy, butterscotch, baking flavours, leather, tobacco.

Finish: Langs on the palate.
