Plantation Rums have long since ceased to be an insider tip. The excellent rums are mainly collected in the Caribbean and also in South America and then brought to France, where they are given their finishing touches. In Ars in France, the rum is then stored for several months in small discarded oak cognac barrels. This type of ageing is known as "double ageing", a technique that was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Plantation Rum Guyana Single Cask Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey Finish 2007 matures for 13 years in bourbon barrels and then for 1 year in FERRAND barrels. This rum is finished in Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey casks.
