The Deanston 18 Years Old Highland Single Malt is an outstanding whisky that embodies the Deanston Distillery’s tradition of craftsmanship. Housed in a former cotton mill dating from 1785, the distillery has been producing unpeated Highland whisky since the 1960s, relying on natural processes, including the use of water from the River Teith.

This 18-year-old single malt is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which lend it exceptional depth and complexity. This long maturation allows it to develop a harmonious balance between sweet, spicy and malty notes, which are reflected in an elegant and multi-layered flavour profile. With an alcohol content of 46.3% ABV, and with no chill filtration or added colouring, this whisky is preserved in its purest form.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber.

Nose: Notes of honey, vanilla and toffee, accompanied by roasted almonds and a hint of oaky spice.

Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with flavours of sweet malt, caramelised nuts, citrus fruits and a pleasant honeyed sweetness.

Finish: Long-lasting with a blend of vanilla, subtle spices and creamy oak.

The Deanston 18 Years Old is ideal for enjoying neat, to experience its full range of flavours. It pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate, mature cheese or caramelised nuts, which bring out its sweet and spicy notes. Alternatively, it can be used as a sophisticated base for a Whisky Old Fashioned or a Gold Rush cocktail to stylishly highlight its vanilla and honey flavours.
