Master Distiller Billy Walker spends a lot of time in the warehouses of the GlenAllachie distillery carefully assessing around 50,000 casks. This demanding task requires not only expertise, but also dedication - but the effort pays off with the excellent results that emerge.

The GlenAllachie Distillery is deliberately bucking the trend towards company mergers and consolidations. As an independent Scottish company, it continues to focus on the essentials: the production of outstanding whiskies and the enjoyment of life. The GlenAllachie CUVÉE CASK FINISH Vintage 2011 reflects this philosophy.

The whisky is first matured in American oak casks before Billy Walker gives it additional character by finishing it in three carefully selected cask types - Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheons, Madeira barrique casks and port pipes.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany.

Nose: Fruity, sweet, notes of mocha, liquorice, honey, glazed cherries, ripe garden fruits.

Taste: Rich, full-bodied, notes of heather honey, cinnamon, caramelised sugar, Ingwerer, orange peel.

Finish: Langs on the palate.
