Plymouth Sloe Gin is a special variation of the classic Plymouth Gin, which is refined with hand-picked sloe berries. Produced in the historic Plymouth Distillery, which has been in existence since 1793 and is one of the oldest gin distilleries in England, this Sloe Gin combines traditional British craftsmanship with fruity elegance. The sloe berries are macerated in Plymouth Gin for several months, giving the sloe gin its deep red colour and characteristic flavour profile with a perfect balance of fruitiness, subtle sweetness and gentle spice.

The slow maceration process allows the intense flavours of the sloes to unfold, which combine harmoniously with the classic botanicals of Plymouth Gin. Juniper, coriander and citrus peel remain in the background, while the berry notes dominate and a slightly tart almond note from the sloe seeds is added. With an alcohol content of 26% vol., this sloe gin is milder than a classic London dry gin, but still offers a complex flavour with a soft structure.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep ruby red.

Nose: Fruity aromas of sloes, ripe red berries and a hint of almonds.

Flavour: Full-bodied and smooth with sweet berries, subtle juniper notes and a light herbal spice.

Finish: Langs with a fine balance of fruit sweetness and gentle acidity.

Plymouth Sloe Gin can be enjoyed neat, slightly chilled or on ice to bring out its fruity flavours. It is also ideal for classic cocktails such as the Sloe Gin Fizzers, Sloe Royale or the Sloe Negroni, where its fruity depth comes into its own. It also reveals its full flavour potential as a refreshing long drink with tonic water or Prosecco.
