The Fernando de Castilla Oloroso Classic Dry Sherry with 18% vol. is a powerful, dry-aged sherry from the renowned Fernando de Castilla house in Jerez de la Frontera, the heart of the Andalusian sherry region. This Oloroso has a classic style - intense, nutty, full-bodied and with natural depth. Made from the Palomino Fino grape variety, this sherry matures for many years in old oak barrels in the Solera system, without the influence of flor yeast. The result is a wine with great aromatic complexity and a mature, structured personality.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Oloroso has a deep amber to mahogany colour with golden reflections. The nose is multi-layered with notes of roasted hazelnuts, dried dates, tobacco, leather, cedar wood and a hint of vanilla and spices. The palate is dry, intensely nutty, with a noticeable body, subtle saltiness and a warm, long-lasting finish. The oxidative ageing gives it fullness, depth and an exceptionally elegant structure.

Ideal as an aperitif or with savoury tapas, grilled meat, mature Manchego, paté, game dishes, smoked ham or mushroom risotto. It also unfolds its potential impressively in combination with nutty starters, chestnuts or dishes with truffles.
