This rum is characterised by the unique climatic conditions of Nicaragua, a Central American country. It is produced by the Compania Licorera de Nicaragua, which has been based in Managua since 1890. However, the actual distillery is not located in Managua, but near the sugar factory in Chichigalpa, around 120 kilometres away.

The name of the rum is derived from the small island of Zapatera in Lake Cocibolca in Nicaragua, which gives it a special identity.

Zapatera Rum is matured in 200-litre American white oak barrels, which gives it a rich palette of aromas and a balanced flavour structure.

Thanks to its careful ageing in American white oak and its origin in the heart of Nicaragua, Zapatera Rum embodies a unique taste experience that is appreciated by rum lovers worldwide.
