Description
Description
The Douglas Laing OLD PARTICULAR Port Dundas 16 Years Old Single Grain Cask 2004 is a rare and limited bottling from the renowned Old Particular series by Douglas Laing. This single grain whisky comes from the legendary, now closed Port Dundas distillery, which was known for its smooth and elegant grain whiskies. Distilled in 2004 and matured for over 16 years in a single cask, this whisky was bottled at 48.4% vol. without chill-filtration and without the addition of colouring agents to preserve its natural purity and complexity.
Port Dundas whiskies are particularly sought-after today, as the distillery closed its doors for good in 2010. This bottling therefore not only offers a unique flavour experience, but is also a valuable collector's item for lovers of exclusive single grain whiskies.
Distilled: July 2004
Bottled: June 2021
Limited to 748 bottles worldwide.
Tasting Note
Colour: Light gold.
Nose: Smooth and creamy, with notes of vanilla, caramel, coconut, ripe yellow fruit and a hint of cinnamon.
Flavour: Silky smooth with sweet honey, toffee, butter biscuits, a light spiciness of oak and a fine almond note.
Finish: Medium to long, with sweet vanilla notes, a subtle oak spice and an elegant, creamy texture.
The Douglas Laing OLD PARTICULAR Port Dundas 16 Years Old is perfect for pure enjoyment to fully savour its velvety structure and sweet, multi-layered aromas. It harmonises particularly well with white chocolate, butter caramel or creamy desserts such as panna cotta. Thanks to its fine elegance and light spiciness, it is also an ideal introduction for connoisseurs who want to discover the world of high-quality single grain whiskies.
