Description
Shinju 8 Years Old Japanese Whisky 40% Vol. 0.7 l is a remarkable whisky from Japan, affectionately known as "the pearl of Japan". The name and story of this whisky are inspired by a beautiful legend: It is said that pearls were created from the tears of angels, a story that reflects the elegance and noble character of this whisky. As a tribute to the highest and holiest mountain in Japan, Mount Fuji, with a height of 3776.24 metres, the crystal-clear water of Mount Fuji is used to make Shinju whisky. This water is known for its purity and gives the whisky a particularly soft and smooth texture.
The Shinju 8 Years Old whisky is matured for eight years in carefully selected oak casks, which gives it a complex and harmonious depth of flavour. The oak cask maturation brings out delicate flavours of vanilla, honey and wood, which combine perfectly with the fresh, floral and fruity notes of the whisky. The Shinju whisky offers a balanced and refined drinking experience that will transport both whisky lovers and newcomers to the world of Japanese whiskies.
Tasting Note
Colour: Golden amber colour resulting from the oak barrel maturation.
Nose: Aromas of floral notes, with a gentle sweetness of honey and vanilla, accompanied by a light woody and spicy nuance.
Flavour: Soft and full-bodied, with a harmonious combination of fruity and floral notes, underpinned by a subtle hint of wood and vanilla.
Finish: Langs and pleasant, with a warm aftertaste of oak and a subtle sweetness that lingers on the palate.
Shinju 8 Years Old Japanese Whisky is perfect for drinking neat to fully experience the flavours, either at room temperature or slightly chilled. This whisky is also an excellent accompaniment to fine dishes such as sushi, grilled fish or tender meat, as its subtle aromas perfectly complement the flavour complexity of these dishes. The whisky also harmonises perfectly with fine chocolate desserts or even mild cheeses, which highlight the subtle oak and vanilla notes of Shinju whisky.
