The Delaforce His Eminence Choice 10 Years Old Tawny Port is a carefully matured Aged Tawny Port made from selected grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. The production follows the traditional port wine methodology, using only the best Douro varieties. Delaforce works with a small number of classic grape varieties, which are used specifically for their distinctive character and aromatic depth. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September and arrive at the winery in small trays to fully preserve their quality during transport. With its steep slopes and warm, dry climate, the Port Wine region provides ideal conditions for long-lasting Port wines. Ageing in wood over a period of 10 years gives this Tawny Porto its characterful, balanced structure and makes it a high-quality choice within the historic Delaforce Linie.


The signature of winemaker Jorge Moreira is evident in the precise vinification, which combines tradition and modern cellar technology. Over ten years of ageing ensures the elegant balance for which His Eminence's Choice is renowned. Thanks to its origin, careful ageing and classic grape variety composition, this Tawny presents itself as a fully-fledged representative of the traditional Port wine craft. The serving recommendation - either at room temperature or slightly chilled in summer - emphasises its versatility. Tasting Note

In the glass, the Tawny has warm, amber-coloured reflections. Fresh, ripe, plum-like sultana aromas unfold on the nose. On the palate, it is rich, full and mouth-filling with flavours of jam, sultanas and dates. The finish is very balanced, elegant and long-lasting.

This 10 Years Old Tawny Porto harmonises excellently with blue cheese, mature cheddar or nut varieties, as its depth and structure ideally pick up the aromatic intensity of such dishes. It is also an excellent accompaniment to chocolate desserts, fig cake or desserts with caramel, which are enhanced by its sweet and spicy flavour. As a digestif, it is particularly suitable for quiet evenings or as an accompaniment to a dessert course. It also unfolds its full bouquet when slightly chilled in summer and can be enjoyed with fresh nut desserts, dark chocolate or elegantly composed cheese platters. For optimum storage, we recommend keeping the bottle in a cool place away from light and serving at 17-18 °C.
