This barrique brandy is made from the intensely flavoured old apricot variety Royal Luizet, which comes from the Swiss Valais - one of the best growing regions for stone fruit. The hand-picked fruit is processed when fully ripe and distilled in a particularly flavourful way using counter-current distillation. The fruity distillate is then aged for at least a year in carefully selected oak barrels. This maturation not only gives the Vieil Abricot its golden colour, but also fine wood and vanilla notes that perfectly round off the fruit flavour.
