The name La Escondida, which translates as "the hidden woman", is based on a fascinating legend dating back to 1543, according to which a Spanish princess was captured but managed to escape - but she was never found again. Local fishermen later claimed to have spotted her as a mermaid in the Pacific. This mystical story lends La Escondida a mysterious aura that is reflected in every bottle.
