The Polz Zweigelt Steiermark 2018 is a finely structured, classic red wine from a top location in southern Styria that impressively demonstrates how elegantly and full of character the Zweigelt grape variety can be grown in a cooler climate such as Styria. The 2018 vintage is characterised by optimal ripening conditions, which is reflected in the clear, varietal aromas of the wine. After selective hand-picking, the Zweigelt is gently vinified and matured in stainless steel tanks to preserve the pure fruit. With a moderate alcohol content of 12.5% vol., it is particularly drinkable, balanced and easily accessible. This Zweigelt is a prime example of Austrian red wine with style and a sense of origin - elegant, purist and absolutely versatile.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Polz Zweigelt 2018 has a clear ruby red colour with light violet reflections. The nose reveals a fine interplay of aromas of juicy sour cherries, fresh red berries and a subtle spicy note. On the palate, the wine is supple, with ripe cherry fruit, a gentle tannin structure and well-integrated, lively acidity. The finish is delicately fruity, clear and of medium Langs.
