The Ming River Sichuan Baijiu Grain Spirit is an authentic Chinese baijiu, produced in the traditional Luzhou Laojiao distillery, which has been known for its unique craftsmanship for over 400 years. With an alcohol content of 45% vol. and bottled in a 0.7 litre bottle, this grain spirit represents the rich culture and history of China and is an ideal introduction to the world of baijiu.


The production is based on sorghum, an ancient grain that is fermented in traditional stone pits. This complex process, combined with natural fermentation and a special yeast culture, gives baijiu its unmistakable flavour. After distillation, the result is a strong, complex grain spirit that perfectly reflects the characteristic "strong flavour" style from the Sichuan region.

Tasting Note

Colour: Crystal clear.

Nose: Expressive with exotic fruit notes (pineapple, lychee), floral nuances, fermented fruit and some yoghurt.

Flavour: Complex, fruity and spicy with sweet and sour tones, hints of tropical fruit, umami, white flowers and a slightly earthy depth.

Finish: Long-lasting, aromatic and intense with a fruity, spicy aftertaste.

Ming River Baijiu is traditionally enjoyed neat and at room temperature in small glasses - often on festive occasions or as an accompaniment to sumptuous Chinese dishes such as Sichuan cuisine, dim sum or grilled pork belly. In the western bar world, it is increasingly being used as a flavourful and intense component in cocktails, for example in the "Baijiu Negroni" or as a twist in the "Martini" or "Daiquiri".
