Evan Williams, the namesake of the best-selling bourbon after Jim Beam, comes from Wales. He came to Virginia and settled in what is now Kentucky around 1780, where he founded a small distillery on the Ohio River. According to a newspaper report in the Louisville Courier-Journal on 29 April 1889, Williams was a member of the Louisville town meeting and, according to tradition, he never came to a meeting without a bottle of whiskey. Today, the two Master Distillers, Parker and Craig Beam, oversee all distillation and production. As their family has been involved in bourbon making for generations, knowledge and tools of the trade, including a secret family recipe for the yeast strain, have always been passed down.

The award-winning Evan Williams Bourbon BOTTLED-IN-BOND is made from 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye. It serves as a tribute to Evan Williams to keep the history of American whiskey alive. This bottling is one of the few bottled-in-bond bourbons still available and shares the legacy of Evan Williams Black Label, the second largest brand of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, not only in the US but worldwide. This bourbon whiskey is matured for longer than required by law. The BOTTLED-IN-BOND designation stands for whiskies that are bottled at 100 proof, have a minimum age of four years and are produced by a single distillery.
