This fine single malt whisky first matured in American and European oak refill casks before undergoing a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and in charred American oak casks with heavily toasted new AO ends. This elaborate double cask maturation creates a complex, multi-layered character that perfectly combines the typical Islay flavour of peat smoke with the seductive sweetness of sherry.
