The Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exceptional limited edition from the Kilchoman Distillery and is the first bottling from the distillery available worldwide that has been matured entirely in fino sherry casks. For this edition, the whisky was stored in 12 fino sherry butts for the entire maturation period, including 11 first fill casks and 1 refill butt, which were previously used by Bodega Miguel Martin in Spain. This strictly limited bottling was bottled at 50% vol. without chill filtration and without colouring. This edition is limited to just 10,500 bottles worldwide and therefore occupies a special position within Kilchoman's experimental cask series.


In contrast to the classic Oloroso sherry maturations that are regularly used in Kilchoman's Core Range, Fino Sherry brings a much drier and saltier style. This type of cask gives the Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured a fresh, precise structure and adds new facets to the typical Islay character. Fruity freshness, maritime hints and the clear smokiness of the distillate come more to the fore without losing any of its depth. This bottling is part of a series of innovative full maturations in which Kilchoman has already experimented with port, Madeira, Sauternes, red wine and STR casks. This edition is delivered in a high-quality gift box, making it particularly relevant for collectors.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold, with clear silvery-golden reflections.

Nose: Fragranced green apples, citrus freshness, slight saltiness, accompanied by maritime notes and fine peat smoke.

Flavour: Dry and precise, with green apple, citrus fruit, subtle cooked fruit notes, saline spice and elegant smokiness.

Finish: Langs, dry and clean, with fresh fruit, sea salt, fine smoke and a clear structure.
