The El Dorado VERSAILLES Single Still Finest Demerara Rum 2009 is an exceptional vintage bottling from the renowned El Dorado Distillery in Guyana. This fine rum comes from one of the last remaining wooden pot stills, the historic Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still, which is known for its intense and complex rums.

This rum was distilled in 2009 and matured for over a decade in ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak, giving it an impressive balance of depth, flavour and fruitiness. The wooden pot still distillation gives it a particularly distinctive, aromatic character with strong oak and spice notes.

With an alcohol content of 40% by volume, El Dorado Versailles 2009 is a complex yet accessible rum that cuts an excellent figure both on its own and in exclusive cocktails.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Intense aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, dried fruit and toasted oak.

Flavour: Strong and spicy with notes of toffee, nutmeg, caramel and a fine smokiness, accompanied by subtle citrus and herbal accents.

Finish: Langs and warm with lingering notes of wood, spices and fruit.

This single-still Demerara rum is ideal for drinking neat at room temperature or with a drop of water to develop the flavour. It is an excellent accompaniment to dark chocolate, roasted nuts, mature cheese or a fine cigar. It also unfolds its full potential as a base for fine cocktails such as a Rum Old Fashioned or a Rum Manhattan.
