Description
On the rugged coastline of the unique Isle of Skye, south of Dunvagan, the snow-white little Talisker distillery lies magically on the shore of a bay. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831, and after their deaths, numerous others took over in an attempt to continue the distillery. All of them failed until a financial manager and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking over. Talisker was triple-distilled until 1928, after which it was only double-distilled. After a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to the original. Today, Talisker belongs to the Diageo spirits group.
The Talisker 30 Year Old is a deep nod to the distillery's homeland and a heritage that celebrates the fusion of seafood and whisky to honour the natural wonders of the island. Matured over three decades, this whisky shines in its full splendour and celebrates the rugged wilderness of its surroundings. Each year, carefully selected American oak casks that have previously been filled with whisky are used to produce this special drop. Talisker 30 Year Old is neither coloured nor chill-filtered and is bottled at its natural cask strength.
In the USA, Talisker has entered into an exciting partnership with Real Oyster Cult to mark this remarkable release. Together they are offering careful pairings of seafood and whisky. The origin of this whisky from near the sea gives it its characteristic maritime and salty notes, making it an ideal accompaniment to oysters and caviar. These combinations are a true tribute to Talisker's long tradition of combining whisky and seafood.

Nose: Sweetish, peaty, ripe apples, lavender, honey notes.
Flavour: Salty nuances, fruit notes, chimney smoke.
