Kilchoman 100% Islay The 13th Edition 2023 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a bottling with a strong character from the Kilchoman Distillery and exemplifies the distillery's consistent single farm single malt approach. This Islay single malt Scotch whisky was distilled from Islay-grown barley, which was grown on the distillery's own fields in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The whisky was then matured for at least 8 years before 44 ex-bourbon barrels were selected for the bottling of the 13th Edition 2023. The selection includes casks from three different maturation ages, with the youngest cask being eight years old. This edition was bottled at 50% vol. without chill filtration and without colouring, which clearly preserves the original character.


It is particularly noteworthy that this 100% Islay Edition is the first bottling since 2019 to be matured exclusively in bourbon casks. The focus on predominantly fresh bourbon casks gives the whisky a distinct structure and emphasises Kilchoman's clear, agricole-influenced style. From the barley field to malting, distillation, maturation and bottling, this 100% Islay whisky remains entirely on the island and only leaves Islay as a finished bottling. Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold, with warm yellow reflections.

Nose: Fresh citrus notes, vanilla, caramel, accompanied by light malt and fine peat smoke.

Flavour: Creamy and balanced, with vanilla sweetness, buttery notes, citrus freshness and a subtle smokiness.

Finish: Medium to long lasting, soft, with malt, bourbon vanilla and gentle Islay smoke.
