Mortlach Distillery, founded in 1823, is one of the oldest and most renowned distilleries in Scotland’s Speyside region. Known as ‘The Beast of Dufftown’, Mortlach has made a name for itself with its uniquely complex and robust single malts. The distillery uses an unusual 2.81-fold distillation process, which gives the whiskies their characteristic depth and complexity.

The 2023 Special Releases, under the theme ‘Spirited Xchange’, proudly present the latest bottlings in this special series. Inspired by cultural influences from various countries, unique partnerships give rise to new whiskies that are appreciated worldwide.

Mortlach The Katana’s Edge Special Release 2023 stands out thanks to its limited edition status and unique maturation process. The whisky is matured in Japanese Kanosuke whisky casks and Pinot Noir barrels, giving it a unique and complex flavour profile. This bottling celebrates the art of distillation and the interplay of different cultures, which is reflected in every sip.
