In 1921, the travelling pharmacist Hugo Kümmerling in Deesbach, Thuringia, developed his first alcohol-based herbal mixture. The result was a bitters that he called "Boonekamp". Over the years, he continued to develop the recipes for his unique herbal blends, which are still valid today. When Johannes Presch, the founder's son-in-law, rebuilt and modernised the production facility in Bodenheim near Mainz in 1963, the tradition was continued.

The herbal liqueur's top-secret recipe is based exclusively on natural ingredients, which make its semi-bitter flavour unmistakable. Thanks to this careful selection and processing, the quality of the liqueur remains consistently high, making it a favourite with connoisseurs and gourmets alike. This continuous dedication to perfection is reflected in every drop of the herbal liqueur.

Colour: Dark brown.

Nose: Notes of liquorice, cinnamon, cloves, spices and mint.

Palate: Semi-bitter, liquorice, angelica root, cloves and spearmint.
