El Padrino Tequila Añejo 100% Puro de Agave is a high-quality, traditionally produced tequila that impresses with its long maturation and complex flavour profile. Made from 100% blue Weber agave, this tequila undergoes a careful production process that gives it its mild yet intense character.

The agave hearts are first roasted in stone ovens for 36 to 54 hours, allowing the natural sugars to develop optimally and giving the tequila its characteristic sweet and slightly smoky flavour. This is followed by slow fermentation for 48 to 60 hours before the tequila is distilled in traditional copper stills. This method ensures a particularly rich flavour with subtle notes of caramel and oak.

After distillation, El Padrino Añejo matures for 14 to 16 months in American oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and smoothness. The long barrel ageing gives it a balanced interplay of sweet agave, spicy oak and creamy caramel.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Aromas of roasted agave, vanilla, caramel and a hint of chocolate.

Flavour: Soft and full-bodied with a perfect balance of sweet honey, spicy oak and subtle notes of cinnamon and cocoa.

Finish: Long-lasting with gentle roasted flavours, a light smokiness and a subtle sweetness.

El Padrino Tequila Añejo is ideal for pure enjoyment in a cognac or tumbler glass to experience its multi-layered flavours to the full. It harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or a mild cigar. Alternatively, it is suitable for luxurious cocktails such as an Añejo Old Fashioned or a Tequila Manhattan to show off its intense cask flavours in style.
