This exceptional whisky is produced by the renowned Amrut Distillery in Bangalore, India, a distillery regarded as a pioneer of modern Indian premium whisky. For this bottling, Amrut uses Scottish peated barley with a peat content of around 23 ppm, giving the whisky a distinctive yet superbly integrated smoky note. Distillation and maturation take place under the extreme climatic conditions of Bangalore, where high temperatures and significant temperature fluctuations considerably accelerate the maturation process. After just 4 to 5 years, the whisky develops a remarkable complexity and intensity comparable to that of significantly older Scotch whiskies.


It is bottled at natural cask strength of 62.8% ABV, allowing the Amrut PEATED CASK STRENGTH to retain its full aromatic power. Powerful peaty smoke blends with intense malty notes, spicy oak and impressive depth. Despite its high alcohol content, the whisky is remarkably balanced and elegant. Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold.

Nose: Smoked barley, intense peaty smoke, smoked fish, salted butter and freshly ground pepper.

Palate: Powerful and full-bodied with intense malt, robust peat smoke, dry oak, spicy notes and a harmonious balance between sweetness and smoke.

Finish: Exceptionally long and elegant with gently fading peat smoke, liquorice, molasses, medium-dark roasted coffee and subtle bourbon cask notes.
