The Tamdhu DISTINCTION I Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 48% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an expressive limited edition from the renowned Tamdhu Distillery, which has dedicated itself entirely to the perfection of sherry cask maturation. This special bottling specifically emphasises the influence of first fill American oak oloroso sherry casks (Quercus Alba) and impressively demonstrates how formative this type of cask can be for the flavour of a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. As an unpeated single malt whisky, the combination of fruit, sweetness and fine oak takes centre stage here.


The journey of this sherry cask whisky begins in the oak forests of North America, where the wood for the casks is sourced. The casks are then prepared in Spain in the so-called Sherry Triangle over a period of several years, air-dried, processed by experienced coopers and pre-coated with Oloroso sherry. Only then are they allowed to mature in the Tamdhu New Make spirit, resulting in an intense combination of wood, fruit and sherry influence. Bottled at 48%, without chill filtration and in a natural colour, this limited release whisky impresses with its depth, structure and authenticity. It is supplied in a high-quality gift box that emphasises the special character of this bottling.
