In 1753, soldiers erected a memorial stone bearing the inscription ‘Rest and Be Thankful’ at the summit of Glen Croe, which serves as a traditional resting place for mountaineers. The 2015 Rest & Be Thankful Jamaica Single Rum, which sets the hearts of all rum lovers racing, is a meisterwerk of the art of rum-making.

This rum was distilled in 2015 at Lluidas Vale, Worthy Park, Jamaica, undergoing rapid fermentation for around 30 hours in American oak vats, followed by pot-still distillation in a Forsyth pot still. Once distillation was complete, the rum was matured for four years on site in Jamaica in ten first-fill American white oak bourbon casks, before the distillate was transported to Scotland for a further three years to reach its full potential.

The result – a ‘light’-style molasses rum – captivates with its delicate yet complex structure. No cold filtration was carried out during bottling, and neither sugar nor caramel colouring was added.
