The Glenmorangie distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. These are distilled in the highest stills in Scotland, resulting in a particularly fine and mild distillate. Glenmorangie is known for its innovative cask finishing technique, which matures whiskies in different types of casks such as port, sherry and wine casks, giving them a unique depth of flavour.

The journey of Glenmorangie Nectar begins in ex-bourbon casks before finding its completion in exquisite white wine casks from France, Spain and Hungary. The Sauternes and Montbazillac casks give it rich pastry and baked apple notes, while the Moscatel casks add sweet, syrupy dessert flavours. The Tokaji barrels round off the profile with nuances of white chocolate, almonds and honeycomb.

With an impressive 16 years of maturation, a bold addition to Glenmorangie's core collection, the Nectar achieves remarkable depth and complexity.

Tasting Note

Colour: Bronze gold.

Nose: Rich, baked brioche, fresh apricots, vanilla custard, roasted almonds, chocolate truffles, distinctive herbal notes.

Flavour: Somewhat oily, balanced notes of citrus fruits, vanilla sauce, roasted apricots, sultana braid, chestnuts, nutmeg, star anise.

Finish: Langs, freshly baked bread, lemon peel, honeycomb.
