The Scheiblhofer winery is a family business and cultivates around 104 hectares of vines, making it one of the largest wineries in Burgenland. All of the grapes are processed on the estate and marketed in bottles. The municipality of Andau, where the winery is located, is one of the municipalities with the most hours of sunshine and creates ideal conditions for full-bodied wines thanks to the mineral-rich gravel soil.

The winery is not only well known for its Prädikat wines, but also for its top red wines such as the outstanding "Big John". Johann Scheiblhofer has won more than 300 gold medals at national awards, making him the winner of the most awards in the country.

Scheiblhofer The Legends is an exquisite cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine matures for 16 months in new French barriques, developing its characteristic depth and complexity. After ageing, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.

With a storage potential until 2033, Scheiblhofer The Legends offers a long-lasting enjoyment experience and will develop its full flavour over the coming years.

Tasting Note

Deep ruby red with ripe edges in the glass. The nose and palate are complex and multi-layered, with fruity aromas of blackcurrants and caramel notes, accompanied by a toasty oak flavour. The finish is long-lasting and soft.

An ideal accompaniment to dark meat, game dishes and strong sauces. Decanting is recommended before serving to allow the flavours of the red wine to fully develop.
