The Tamnavulin distillery, founded in 1966 in the picturesque village of Tomnavoulin in Scotland, looks back on an eventful history. After closing its doors in 1995, the distillery reopened in 2007 following extensive refurbishment and has been producing outstanding single malt whisky that epitomises the authentic Speyside character ever since. The name "Tamnavulin" is derived from Gaelic and means "mill on the hill", a tribute to the historic mill that once stood on the distillery site.

The Tamnavulin German Pinot Noir Red Wine Cask begins its maturation in American oak casks, which give the whisky a solid base. It is then given a special finish in ex-pinot noir casks from a renowned but unnamed winery in Germany. This unique combination gives the whisky a refined complexity and a subtle fruitiness that sets it apart from other bottlings.

Tasting Note

Nose: Caramelised peaches, bitter oranges, cherries, apple pie.

Flavour: Vanilla, peach tart, ginger spice, cherries, figs, liquorice.

Finish: Long lasting.
