The Hearach Isle of Harris Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is the first historic single malt from the Isle of Harris Distillery, which is deeply rooted in the traditions and community of the Outer Hebrides. The name "The Hearach" refers to the people of the Isle of Harris and emphasises that this whisky is not just a product, but a cultural legacy. Like the famous Harris Tweed, this whisky is the result of precision craftsmanship, knowledge passed down through generations and the unique landscape of the island. Each batch carries the characteristic, balanced island style of the distillery, but shows subtle natural variations resulting from individual casks and different marrying times.


The recipe is based on a combination of ex-bourbon casks, oloroso and fino sherry butts, which give the single malt depth, floral finesse and a gentle aroma characterised by maritime influences. Finely dosed smoke, warm spices, fruity Elements and a creamy mouthfeel shape the elegant character of this whisky. Each drop is produced entirely on Harris, creating an authentic reflection of the island's culture. Although the standard bottling is now supplied without a gift box, this version comes with a gift box that emphasises the elegant presentation. The whisky is complex, balanced and long-lasting - an expression of the close connection between the people and the landscape from which it emerges.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light to medium gold.

Nose: Delicate smoky notes, floral hints and soft malt flavours.

Flavour: Light island smoke, roasted malt, stewed apples, spices, candied Ingwerer, vanilla and honeycomb.

Finish: Long, creamy and smooth, with hints of cream and soft leather tones.

This single malt harmonises perfectly with mild blue cheese, apple and almond pastries or creamy desserts, which elegantly absorb its soft, spicy and smoky accents. Dark chocolate with honey or toffee flavours is also an ideal companion. Enjoyed neat, The Hearach unfolds its finely balanced texture particularly clearly; a small splash of water releases additional floral and fruity elements. It is also suitable for meditative enjoyment in the evening, where its long-lasting elegance and complex character come into their own.
