Domäne Wachau, located in Austria's most renowned wine-growing region, the Wachau, is one of the country's leading white wine producers. Steep terraced vineyards, a cool marginal climate and barren primary rock soils characterise the wines of the Wachau.

A mild and dry winter was followed by a cool spring with sufficient moisture, which benefited the vines during the hot summer days. Despite a few hailstorms, the year went well overall until the autumn.

The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner Steinfeder Gneis + Löss come from various vineyards along the Danube throughout the Wachau. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand to obtain a characteristic Wachau wine style with rich fruit. The vineyards are cultivated sustainably and increasingly organically, without the use of insecticides and herbicides. After careful selection and pressing of the grapes in pneumatic tank presses, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Note

Elegant green-yellow in the glass. Fruity nose of green apples and gooseberries, peppery notes. Lively on the palate, pleasant acidity and ripe apples. Langs with an elegant finish.
