The story of Johnnie Walker began in 1819, when John Walker founded a general store that also blended whisky like tea. The rise to a global brand began during the phylloxera plague (1858-1863), which caused cognac shortages and put whisky in the spotlight.

Launched in 1992, the Blue Label is based on the single malts of Royal Lochnagar and Mortlach as well as 13 other malts and grains, including Caol Ila and Talisker. With an impressive 80% malt content, the flavour of this blend is based on whiskies from the 19th century. Only the highest quality casks are selected for production.

The twelve-piece, strictly limited Zodiac Collection from Johnnie Walker combines the exclusive Blue Label with artistic designs that honour the Chinese signs of the zodiac. The Year of the Snake Edition celebrates the snake as a symbol of cunning and elegance. The New Year bottle was designed by James Jean, one of the most influential Asian-American artists. His artful designs are inspired by the complex flavours that Master Blender Emma Walker and her team carefully compose for the Blue Label.

This exceptional whisky is created from the rarest whiskies from the legendary Johnnie Walker reserves. These include irreplaceable casks from long-closed "ghost" distilleries, which give the blend an unrivalled depth and complexity.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Balanced, dark fruits, candied nuts, spicy oak, leather, hint of tobacco, sherry notes.

Flavour: Spicy-sweet, honey, creamy caramel, dark chocolate, ripe oranges, oak, sandalwood, sea salt.

Finish: Langs, complex, peat smoke, dried fruit, spicy notes.
