Loch Lomond Distillery was first established in 1814 on the northern shores of Loch Lomond near Tarbet. However, the current site was created in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill distillery, which is located a few miles from Glasgow.

Since 2014, the distillery has been under the management of Master Blender Michael Henry, whose passion for distilling and brewing whisky is deeply rooted in his experience working around distilleries. His expertise has been instrumental in shaping the production and profile of Loch Lomond whiskies.

The Loch Lomond 12 Years Old Madeira Cask Whisky was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024, spending the majority of its maturation in refill bourbon casks before receiving a 6 to 12 month finish in first-fill Madeira casks. This final refinement gave it additional complexity and depth. It is an unpeated whisky that was produced without peat smoke. The bottling is limited to 205 bottles and is at natural cask strength with an alcohol content of 55.3% vol.

Tasting Note

Colour: Radiant amber.

Nose: Candied oranges, red apples, cloves.

Flavour: Golden syrup, baked apples, cinnamon, ripe cherries, oak spice.

Finish: Langs on the palate.
