The Niepoort winery, one of the best known in Portugal, was founded in 1842 by Eduard Kebe and looks back on a long tradition and history. Today, the winery is run by the fifth generation and successfully combines tradition with innovation to produce wines of the highest quality. Niepoort has earned an excellent reputation worldwide and stands for exclusive wines that impress with their character and complexity.

In the renowned Cima Corgo region, the vines grow on steep terraces, where they take root in the barren slate soil and absorb valuable flavour characteristics. This special location gives the wines a mineral depth and a distinctive flavour profile. The Fabelhaft, one of the estate's best-known creations, offers impressive drinking pleasure even in its youth and is an excellent companion for a variety of occasions.

Made from the grape varieties Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa, Touriga Nacional and other indigenous grapes, the wine is carefully matured in small wooden barrels. This method gives the Fabelhaft its fine balance between fruit and flavour and makes it a prime example of the quality and elegance of Portuguese wines.

Tasting Note

Intense, lively ruby red colour in the glass. Expressive on the nose, fresh and floral notes as well as balsamic accents. Elegant, lively on the palate, mineral character traits and a special harmony. Long lasting on the finish.

Drinking temperature: 17 °C.

An ideal accompaniment to red meat and mild cheese.
