The Kavalan LÁN single malt whisky 43% vol. 0.7 l + GB is a special bottling from the Kavalan Distillery, which was created as a tribute to its home town of Yilan. The name LÁN means orchid in Chinese and refers to Taiwan's reputation as the "kingdom of orchids". This bottling combines different types of cask: the fresh vanilla notes from bourbon casks, nutty and fruity accents from port casks and the caramelly, fruity sweetness from STR wine casks. This combination creates a clearly structured whisky that reflects the lightness, elegance and aromatic diversity of the region. Each bottle comes in a high-quality gift box and emphasises the unique character of this edition within the Kavalan range.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with warm reflections.

Nose: Enchanting orchid aromas combined with rose, jasmine, peony and orange blossom, plus creamy vanilla, chocolate, caramel, cantaloupe melon, fruit jelly and nutty and cinnamon accents.

Flavour: Fresh, floral and fruity, combined with creamy and chocolaty notes that fade into a lingering nutty and cinnamon wood note.

Finish: Long, elegant and warm with subtle floral and nutty Elements.

Kavalan LÁN is ideal for pure enjoyment, as its floral and fruity structure is particularly pleasant when drunk at a moderate strength. A harmonious combination is created with light-coloured desserts such as lemon tart, vanilla pudding, almond desserts or white chocolate, which elegantly supports its creamy and fruity components. It also goes well with mild cheeses, air-dried ham or Asian dishes with floral accents, such as dishes with jasmine rice, lemongrass or a light honey glaze. For cocktails, it can be used in floral or fruity versions of whisky sours or highballs, which emphasise its lightness. As a digestif, it offers a warm, balanced and long-lasting aromatic finish.
