The company founder Don Andrés Brugal Montaner left his home country of Spain to seek wealth in the Caribbean. After learning the craft of rum production in Cuba, he moved to the Dominican Republic, more precisely to Puerto Plata, around 1855. The rums of the Brugal company still mature in this city today. After a few years there, he developed his own production process, which ensures the consistent quality of the rums. This process is still a well-kept secret that is now passed down from generation to generation.

Brugal Triple Reserva is a masterfully matured premium rum from the Dominican Republic, whose name refers to its exceptional triple maturation process. Firstly, the rum matures in American oak barrels that previously contained bourbon. This is followed by a second maturation in Spanish oak barrels, which add subtle nuances of red fruits and honey to the rum. The final touch is added in French oak barrels, which introduce spicy notes and harmoniously combine all the flavours.

The result is a perfectly balanced rum with a velvety texture and complex flavours.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber with golden reflections.

Nose: Dried fruit, roasted almonds, vanilla notes, hint of spices.

Flavour: Harmonious, sweet and spicy, vanilla notes, toffee, dark chocolate, some sherry.

Finish: Langs, warming, elegant, sweet and spicy.
