It owes its name to the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York, from whose limestone caves the mineral-rich water for its production comes. This special water gives the whiskey an extraordinary softness and depth.

The basis of this whiskey is a classic rye mash, which provides a strong, spicy character. Maturation takes place in ex-bourbon barrels, which have been supplemented with staves of oak and apple wood to create additional aromatic complexity. As a single cask bottling, each batch is bottled individually, giving each bottle a special, distinctive flavour. The result is a rye whiskey with intense spicy notes, a pleasant sweetness and a harmonious balance of wood and fruit flavours.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep copper with golden reflections.

Nose: Spicy and powerful with notes of rye bread, honey, vanilla and dark chocolate.

Taste: Full-bodied and complex with flavours of caramel, cinnamon, green apple peel and slightly smoky oak.

Finish: Langs and warm with a pleasant blend of peppery spice, dried fruit and a subtle apple sweetness.
