The Kilchoman 13 Years Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Limited Edition expands the Kilchoman Distillery's portfolio of matured bottlings and emphasises the increasing importance of age-statement whiskies within the distillery. This limited edition has been matured for 13 years in a carefully balanced combination of ex-Bourbon barrels, Octaves and selected Calvados casks. The main part of the blend is made up of classic bourbon casks, which characterise the typical Kilchoman Islay character, while the smaller cask formats contribute additional intensity and the Calvados casks add an extraordinary fruity dimension. This Islay single malt Scotch whisky was bottled at 50% vol. without chill filtration and without colouring.


With this bottling, Kilchoman impressively demonstrates how the maritime peat smoke of the island of Islay can be combined with alternative cask maturation without masking the distillery style. The combination of bourbon cask maturation and Calvados finishing provides depth, freshness and a clear fruit emphasis that blends harmoniously with the strong basic character. Despite limited stocks, the distillery specifically favours matured editions in order to show the development of its distillate over longer periods of time. The Kilchoman 13 Years Old Limited Edition is supplied in a high-quality gift box, which also positions this bottling as a collector's item in the Kilchoman range.
