The Eichenwald Weine estate is located in Horitschon, one of the most renowned wine-growing communities in Austria's Burgenland region, which is known for its excellent wines. Eichenwald Das Federviech Zweigelt Reserve is an outstanding red wine from this excellent region. It is made from Zweigelt, one of the most important local grape varieties, and shows the full expressiveness of the grape. The wine matures for 24 months in first and second-fill barrique barrels, which gives it additional complexity.

This red wine presents itself as a dry, powerful red wine that is known for its balance and elegance.

Tasting Note

A deep, dark ruby red colour in the glass. Aromas of ripe black cherries, plums and blueberries on the nose, accompanied by fine woody notes and a light spiciness. Wonderfully juicy, well-structured and lively and fresh on the palate. The flavours of dark fruits such as black cherries and plums continue and blend harmoniously with a delicate vanilla note and roasted notes from the barrique ageing. Long and persistent on the finish.

Residual sugar: 11 g/l

Zweigelt Reserve is perfect with strong meat dishes such as grilled beef, lamb chops or game dishes. It is also an excellent accompaniment to mature hard cheeses such as Comté or Manchego. Its complex structure makes it an ideal companion for savoury, spicy stews or a relaxed evening with good company.
