The grapes come from the Tenuta's own vineyards, located in the gentle hills of the Maremma near Bolgheri, where the combination of sun, sea influence and calcareous soil creates ideal conditions for expressive red wines. The wine is aged for several months in second and third passage French barriques in order to preserve the fruit and yet give the wine fine depth and structure.

In the glass, Le Difese has an intense ruby red colour with purple hues. The nose reveals aromas of dark cherries, redcurrants and cassis, accompanied by delicate notes of tobacco, Mediterranean herbs and fine vanilla. On the palate, it is balanced, juicy and elegant with fresh acidity, ripe tannins and a harmonious balance between fruit, spice and fine wood. The finish is smooth, medium-bodied and pleasantly long.
