The SOMMOS Chardonnay Somontano D.O.P. 2024 is an elegant Spanish white wine from the up-and-coming wine region of Somontano, at the foot of the Pyrenees in Aragón. It is made entirely from the Chardonnay grape variety, which exhibits a particularly crisp, fresh and terroir-driven profile here. The cool nights and warm days at this altitude lend the grapes exceptional aromatics, whilst the calcareous and gravelly soils impart a delicate minerality.


Following careful hand-harvesting, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, ensuring that the Chardonnay’s characteristic freshness, fruitiness and elegance are preserved. The wine is also partly aged in barriques to impart additional creaminess and subtle toasted aromas. With an alcohol content of 13 % vol., the SOMMOS Chardonnay 2024 combines Mediterranean freshness with international calibre. Tasting Note

In the glass, the SOMMOS Chardonnay 2024 displays a pale golden-yellow colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, intense aromas of tropical fruits such as pineapple and mango unfold, accompanied by citrus notes, white flowers and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is creamy and well-balanced, with fresh acidity, subtle minerality and a long, elegant finish, in which fruit and subtle oaky notes blend harmoniously.

This Chardonnay from Somontano is an ideal accompaniment to grilled fish, seafood, creamy pasta dishes or white meats such as poultry. It also pairs superbly with mild cheeses.
