La Scolca Gavi Bianco Secco DOCG 2023, also known as Etichetta Bianca, is a classic, dry white wine from Piedmont that deliberately focuses on one grape variety: 100% Cortese. This single-varietal wine comes from the traditional La Scolca winery, which has been family-run since 1919 and is based in the renowned municipality of Gavi. Only the best grapes were harvested by hand for this elegant white wine, which were then taken directly to the press house. There, the grapes are carefully sorted and gently crushed.

The subsequent fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, ensuring that freshness, fruit and clarity are optimally preserved. After bottling, the wine is sealed with a natural cork to perfectly protect the flavours. The Gavi Bianco Secco has a maturation potential of around 3 years, during which it can develop additional depth and elegance. The DOCG controlled designation of origin guarantees the highest standards of origin and quality.

Tasting Note

The Etichetta Bianca Gavi glides into the glass with a brilliant platinum yellow colour. A complex aroma unfolds on the nose, reminiscent of red and black berries, dark fruits such as tart cherries and plums - an unusual but fascinating character for a white wine. On the palate, it is pleasantly dry, soft and balanced, without ever appearing sparse or overloaded. The moderate fruit acidity ensures a velvety sensation on the palate and at the same time gives the wine a juicy liveliness. The finish is long-lasting and precise, with a lovely aftertaste that rounds off the elegant overall impression.
