This edition is part of the renowned Harmony Collection and symbolises the close connection between whisky craftsmanship and artistic expression, inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his famous group of artists "The Four".

This special bottling has been matured exclusively in European sherry oak casks, expertly selected by The Macallan Whisky Maker from an extensive stock. The Tevasa oak casks used have been flavoured with sherry and reflect Mackintosh's time in Europe. They give the whisky a complex interplay of flavours with notes of sultanas, figs, burnished oak, cherry blossom, almonds, oranges and sweet syrup.

The combination of first-fill and second-fill casks provides depth and balance: while the first-fill casks deliver strong, wood-accentuated notes, the second-fill casks bring out finer, floral fruit nuances - including cherry, apple and orange, all fruits that carry their own blossoms. This aromatic combination is only possible through many years of maturation in high-quality barrels. The chosen alcohol content of 50.4% specifically emphasises the key flavours and is also a homage to Mackintosh.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold with a reddish shimmer.

Nose: Complex with sultanas, sweet dates, figs, cherry blossom, almonds and spicy wood.

Flavour: Full-bodied, elegant and multi-layered with notes of oranges, treacle, cinnamon, nutmeg and finely polished oak.

Finish: Langs, balanced with floral fruit notes, ripe dried fruit and gentle spice.
