The Kirk and Sweeney XO Edición Limitada No. 5 BIO is an outstanding Caribbean rum with a strong character and uncompromising quality. This strictly limited special edition is distilled in the Dominican Republic from organically certified sugar cane molasses and represents the highest expression of the Kirk and Sweeney brand. Maturation takes place in a tropical climate over many years in hand-picked oak barrels, giving the rum its exceptional depth and complexity.
With a strong alcohol content of 65.5% vol., this rum is bottled at cask strength and is presented without additives, unchill-filtered and natural. The combination of a long maturation period and the influence of the Dominican climate results in a rum that combines intense flavours with an elegant body and a warm finish. The elegant design of the bottle and the high-quality gift box emphasise the collectable and gift character of this limited premium bottling.
Tasting Note
Colour: Deep mahogany with golden reflections.
Nose: Full-bodied with notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla and a hint of tobacco.
Taste: Complex and powerful with flavours of toffee, caramel, sultanas, spices and toasted wood.
Finish: Langs and intense, characterised by dark sugar, oak, some coffee and subtle spice.
The Kirk and Sweeney XO No. 5 is ideal for pure enjoyment, preferably in a nosing glass at room temperature. Thanks to its high cask strength, the addition of a few drops of water is recommended to fully open up the complex flavour spectrum. Excellent in combination with fine dark chocolate, dried fruit or a strong cigar. This rum is also an exquisite accompaniment to a fine dessert such as crème brûlée or caramelised banana cake.
