The Ripa Della Volta Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2022 is an elegant red wine from Veneto that is characterised by authenticity, freshness and classic style. The cuvée is based on the traditional Valpolicella grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, which ripen under optimal conditions in the gentle hills of the Valpolicella region. As a Superiore, this wine bears the hallmark of a longer maturation period and a higher extract content compared to the classic Valpolicella, which is clearly reflected in its structure and expression.

The grapes are carefully selected and the temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks is followed by a short maturation in wooden barrels, which gives the wine depth, elegance and fine flavour without losing its drinkability. With a moderate alcohol content of 12.5% vol., the 2022 vintage offers a particularly accessible and balanced interpretation of the Valpolicella style - fresh, fruity and with a clear origin.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine is a bright ruby red colour with delicate violet reflections. The nose is open and clear with aromas of sour cherry, redcurrant and a hint of dried herbs. Soft and supple on the palate, with juicy fruit, fine spice and well-integrated acidity. The tannins are ripe and subtle, the finish is elegant, balanced and slightly mineral - typical of the classic red soils of Valpolicella.

A versatile accompaniment to pasta with tomato sauces, grilled poultry, antipasti, mild cheeses or Mediterranean-flavoured vegetables. Thanks to its accessibility, Valpolicella Superiore is also ideal as an everyday wine or a fine accompaniment for relaxed evenings. Served well at 16-18 °C, it reveals its full potential.
