The rye used in this whisky is 100 % sourced from Virginia and defines the spicy, distinctive character of the bottling.

With an alcohol content of 50 % vol., this rye whisky displays powerful aromas without losing its balance. Maturation in fresh, charred American oak casks creates an intense interplay of rye spice, vanilla, toasted nuts and dark caramel. Batch 1 from the 2024 vintage produces a characterful, complex American rye that is just as impressive neat as it is in a classic whisky cocktail.

Tasting Note

Colour: Rich amber.

Nose: Spicy and robust with notes of rye bread, cinnamon, oak, tobacco and a hint of sweetness.

Palate: Expressive, with rye spice, black pepper, roasted grains, caramel and vanilla.

Finish: Lang, dry and spicy with woody notes and a hint of leather.

This rye is excellent enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a few drops of water to open up the flavours. It’s also perfect for classic cocktails such as the Manhattan, Sazerac or Whisky Sour. When paired with food, Reservoir Rye goes wonderfully with smoked meats, beef tartare with a pepper crust, pastrami sandwiches or strong cheeses such as Gruyère.
