The Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Pinot Noir 2023 is a stylish red wine from the sunny south of France, combining the characteristic finesse of the Pinot Noir grape variety with the Mediterranean warmth of the Languedoc. The cuvée comes from vineyards stretching along the Mediterranean coast between Narbonne and Béziers – a region with ideal climatic conditions for aromatic, fruit-driven yet elegant wines.

Gérard Bertrand, one of the leading figures in biodynamic viticulture in France, is known for the Côte des Roses range, which comprises modern, terroir-driven wines that meet the highest standards of style and sustainability. The 2023 vintage is balanced, ripe and fresh. The vines grow on limestone and clay-rich soils; the grapes are harvested with care and fermented under temperature control to preserve the fine aromas and delicate texture of the Pinot Noir as effectively as possible. The wine is aged briefly in stainless steel tanks and partly in wood, which lends it additional depth without overpowering the fruit.

The elegant bottle design with its rose-patterned base is also visually striking – a stylish expression of the elegance this Pinot Noir promises in the glass.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine displays a luminous ruby red colour with delicate purple highlights. On the nose, it reveals a fragrant bouquet of cherry, raspberry, violet and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this Pinot Noir is supple, elegant and delicately fruity, with soft tannins, well-integrated acidity and a harmonious, slightly spicy finish.

A versatile accompaniment to barbecued poultry, veal fillet, tuna tataki, Mediterranean vegetable dishes, as well as mushroom risotto or mild soft cheese. Served chilled at 14–16 °C, it is a delight even on warmer days.
